Search Engine + Space Detail

Spot2 is a Mexican marketplace that connects companies with commercial spaces for rent or sale. Although we had a solid base of spaces, we identified a drop in user conversion who explored the search engine but did not schedule visits.

The challenge was to transform the search and space visualization experience—both from the map and on the detail page—to increase the number of physical visits scheduled with owners and brokers, shortening the decision cycle.

Strategic Objective

Increase the conversion of the search engine and the space file, transforming both views into action-centered tools, with a clear and always visible CTA that facilitates scheduling real visits.

  • Increase conversion to qualified leads per space visited
  • Facilitate direct contact between user and owner without friction
  • Improve the efficiency of the commercial team by reducing leads without context

Product Objectives

  • Redesign the search engine (map + list) with persistent and intuitive navigation
  • Optimize the visual structure of the space detail, prioritizing relevant information and CTA
  • Increase engagement with filters, interactive map, and contextual exploration logic

Components of the Automation System

  • Click-through rate to the “Schedule Visit” CTA (+38%)
  • Reduction of bounce rate on space file (-18%)
  • Navigation time on map and scroll depth
  • Qualitative feedback: user satisfaction + improved perception of trust

Success Metrics

  • Click-through rate to the “Schedule Visit” CTA (+38%)
  • Reduction of bounce rate on space file (-18%)
  • Navigation time on map and scroll depth
  • Qualitative feedback: user satisfaction + improved perception of trust

Research

Methodologies
  • Heatmaps and recordings with Hotjar
  • Conversion funnels in Google Analytics / PostHog
  • Semi-structured interviews with key users (brokers and tenants)
  • Benchmarks of similar platforms: Airbnb, Inmuebles24, Idealista, Finsa
Key Findings
  1. Loss of context when using the map: filters reset when interacting with the location.
  2. The space file did not guide to action: the CTA was lost among blocks of technical content.
  3. Users made decisions based on location, price, and immediate contact.
  4. The commercial team received uninformed leads without clarity on which spaces they had seen.
Opportunities
  • Implement persistent and bidirectional navigation between list and map.
  • Simplify space information and use layers of relevance (photos > price > location > services).
  • Make the CTA sticky on mobile and desktop.
  • Show elements of trust: number of views, similar spaces, verified owners.

Product Design - UX/UI

Applied Solutions

  • Search engine redesign with divided layout (map + list) and persistent filters.
  • Quick visualization of spaces with optimized cards and badges of interest (New, Featured, Recent Visits).
  • Detail page with modular layout: location, gallery, description, contact, and always visible CTA button.
  • Optimized experience for desktop and tablet.

Key Components
  • Filter chips and breadcrumbs
  • Sticky CTA with direct connection to WhatsApp
  • Skeleton loading to improve perception of speed
  • Micro-interactions to expand files from list/map

Frontend Development

Technological Stack

  • React as the core of the frontend
  • Material UI for basic structure and style
  • Elastic Search for handling a big amount of pin points georeferenced
  • PostHog for A/B testing flags and conversion events

Highlighted Implementations

  • Custom logic for ranking spaces by proximity + popularity

Results

  • +38% in clicks to the “Schedule Visit” button
  • +42% in interactions with the map (zoom, filter by area, pin click)
  • 3x more leads
  • Significant reduction of abandonment on space file
  • Increase in average session time per user
